Wiper door

The wiper door was repaired and then media-blasted this morning before the process of body work could begin.

The rivet hole was drilled out with a wild setup with a drill press. Eventually both sides were repaired sufficiently, but as expected one side turned out better than the other.

So glad to have sent this off for repair of the main pivot bolt holes.

This is cast aluminum, so after blasting there are a lot of imperfections in the part that have to be fixed with glazing putty.

After a few sessions of applying glazing putty and sanding, this was primed to show the smaller imperfections.

Once this cures, this will be blocked and those small spots will be repaired with more glazing putty. This got a coat of flat-matte black on the bottom.
