Jig



As much as it would be preferred for all of this restoration to happen in-house, having Corvette Central use their jigged drill press to drill these holes out of the wiper door and repair the threads with stainless steel inserts was really the best option, despite the $95 cost.

This could have probably been done here, but getting all four perfect without making a mistake would have been tough. Clearly, this was the way to go.

Now the hole for the trim rivet has to be cleared of the sheet metal screw that was wedged in it. With a little engineering, the drill press here can be jigged to drill this out.
