The front calipers were painted with a high-temperature paint using a sponge. The finish isn't great, but these were not painted to a perfect finish. At the factory, the calipers were painted and then machined, so the finish was flawed and chipped. This is probably better than they looked when new.
It's tempting to spray this paint so they will look better, but it's probably better to do it this way.
