Mail call

The mail arrived with a few parts. The brake distribution block and brake failure warning switch came in and looks great.

Next are the tie rod end boots. Though a small thing, they are a faithful copy of the originals and look great.

These get destroyed anytime the tie rod ends are separated from the relay rod and have to be replaced.

It was remarkable that the originals were still on the car, but there is so little wear on parts like this that it makes the 64,000 miles that are on the odometer seem accurate.

Installed, these look really nice and make getting the rest of the front suspension restored and installed seem closer at hand.

The original measurements between grease fittings (15 7/8 for the right and 15 9/16 for the left) will be used to set these once the front knuckles are back on the car. This car will need an alignment and then some once it is reassembled, but that will get it close enough to drive it to the alignment shop.

Curious if there will be a technician who has aligned a car this old before. That's highly doubtful. These cars use shims to align the caster and camber of the front A-arms and the rear trailing arms.
