The right side of the convertible top frame was disassembled and prepared for primer. Just the right side will be taken apart so the left side can be referenced when riveting it back together. After it's back together, then the left side will be taken apart and restored.

The order of the rivets, wave washers and nylon bushings were noted as each joint was ground apart so it can be reassembled correctly.

All the pieces of the kit of parts were organized and set aside for use after the parts are media-blasted and primed.

The rivet set is taking its sweet time coming in the mail, pausing to enjoy central Michigan for much of last week for some reason. Once it comes in, this can be riveted together again.

The parts were originally painted with what looks like a semi-gloss industrial paint. This paint is pretty common on parts like this and does little to inhibit rust since it's applied without a primer.

After the individual pieces were primed with epoxy primer, they turned out really well.

This primer requires 24 hours to cure fully, but the rivet set won't even be in the state before Tuesday, so there's no rush.

It's intimidating to see all of these parts, knowing full well that without the left side as a reference, there would be a real struggle to put this back together correctly without making a very costly mistake along the way.
