Separation

The header rail of the convertible soft top is absolutely rusted out, ruined beyond repair. At least it's easy to say that knowing that there is an option in the aftermarket.

It's held onto the frame by four 1/4-20 machine screws and four tack welds.

These screws were removed with the help of a little heat and the welds were cleaned up and ground off. With a little convincing with a hammer and drift, the header rail came off.

It'll be retained until the top is installed because it offers lots of clues about how the soft top was installed originally, but it's out of the way of progress.
