Two sides to the issue

One corner of the hard top was missing, broken off years ago. Beside a warm fire in the wood stove and a small space heater, this was repaired with fiberglass mat and then a layer of filler. Sanded smooth, it looks really good and is nearly undetectable.

Seeing these squared holes makes it seem as if there were some sort of covers that snapped into place here to cover the bolts holding the latches. Maybe the assembly manual can shed some light on that.

The hard top was jambed in with epoxy primer/sealer. Once this cures, this can be flipped over and the outside of the shell can be painted to seal it.

Once all of this cures, this will be block-sanded once more before these same areas that were primed today can be blacked in as it was in the factory.
