Forgiving

A section of the rear of the shell was cut out to deal with some rust in the steel frame of the top, so that was bonded back together and body-worked to make it smooth again.

The vinyl for the top came in today from Eckler's by way of Al Knoch.

It's really lovely with a deep grain. This should look really nice and cover up any flaws in the surface of the fiberglass shell.

It was too tempting not to lay it on top of the shell and see how it fits up. The cut is very generous so it's just going to be a matter of lining up the seams so they are even from side to side.

Researching what adhesive to use, it seems most use a sprayable contact cement or they brush on contact cement. Both say either works well.
