Riveting

The attachment hardware for the battery and the jack as well as the bracket for the security alarm electronics were all attached.

The soft, aluminum rivets were set with a pneumatic chisel and a rivet set.

Most dramatic is the battery tray, which was totally destroyed by years of battery acid damaging the floor of the compartment.

This was one of the most challenging repairs on one of the most damaged areas on the car.

In the course of a month or so, it has become one of the nicest looking areas. It's a really satisfying sight so see this look so good.

Next is the jack storage compartment with the bracket for the alarm.

The parts that were riveted in were sealed as the were from the factory to make them waterproof.

All and all, this really turned out well.
