Twice
Time to start on the left side door jamb.
With every job comes the opportunity to use lessons learned on the right side to make it easier on the left side, or vice versa. That's the good part of the symmetry of a car. The bad part of that is having to do everything twice.
Using a chemical stripper rather than trying to sand as was attempted on the right side made stripping the left lock pillar go very quickly.
The original blind rivets were worn down after being sanded for so many repaints, so they were replaced as were the ones on the right side.
The fiberglass rocker cover will be cut off to allow for the restoration of the birdcage beneath it before bonding it back in place.
The quarter panel will need to be bonded to the lock pillar to repair where it has come free near the bottom of the door jamb. A bit of fiberglass will have to be added as well to repair where the door striker has worn away the lock pillar.
