Bugs
The headlight door, headlight bezel and headlight buckets for the right assembly were all media-blasted, primed and painted over the course of two days.
Once again, a handful of little bugs landed on the headlight door, perhaps attracted to the bright green color. They clean off easily with a razor blade and don't leave much of a mark behind, so it's not a big deal.
One of the machine screws that attach the headlight buckets to the door had to be drilled out after it broke while being removed. It's surprising that only one seized in the aluminum. A little RTV or perhaps something stronger will keep it in place during assembly.
The headlight buckets were just as rusty if not more so than the ones on the left side, but time in the blast cabinet seemed to make them smooth enough.
For some reason, these two were misshapen, but it's doubtful that the dents will be visible once they are assembled.
These are light and moved around quite a bit as they were being painted, compounding the difficulty of shooting gloss black. The outside of the part is the only part of these that will show, and only from beneath, so it was good that the outside of the two turned out better than the inside.
The bezels, especially this one, were in very good condition. The right side only required a small bit of filler to ready it for paint. The mounting holes, which are normally wallowed out, are all in nearly mint condition on both of these.
Once the paint cures, the bezel and door will be painted with body color so this can be fully assembled like the left side.
