Pitting

The hinges for the rear compartment came out very nicely. The replacement hinge shows a bit of pitting, but the original had so many holes drilled into it by a previous owner that it wasn't salvageable.

This replacement will work fine and will still show nicely since most of the damage will be covered by the seal for the battery compartment. The other two hinges are in mint condition.

The bezels for the latches are also pitted, making the replacement set that was ordered earlier the obvious way to go. Both sets were painted along with the hinges.

Once a carpet set is ordered to replace the incorrect set that was supplied with the car, the lids can be assembled and this will be ready to be stored away.
