Harvest Gold
The frame-cut came in the mail today. After the fiberglass rocker cover was drilled out, the piece that is needed to repair this car was prepared.
There were a handful of screws that a previous owner drilled into the rocker to attach the rocker trim to the rocker. These holes were welded closed and the welded nuts that were originally intended to hold that trim on were ground off so they can be replaced.
It's very common for these nuts to become rusty and unusable, so much so that they are reproduced in the aftermarket for just such a repair.
A new set should come in this week.
Surprising to see a 1970 Corvette, originally red, that had been painted a metallic bronze and then this awful Harvest Gold. Ah the 1970s.
