Middle of the night

An original GM 40769 "jelly jar" fuel pump came up for sale overnight, so it had to be purchased. These have not been available for a very long time and normally sell for $400 to $500 when they turn up.

There used to be a service that would buy original cores, rebuild them and then resell them, but that ended years ago as well.

When this one turned up for $90 on eBay, buying it was a no-brainer. It was restamped at the factory with an updated part number, but other than that it's perfect.
