Them's the brakes

The front and rear caliper bores were honed with what turned out to be a really awful brake hone purchased at a local auto parts store before the calipers were rebuilt with a nice kit of parts from Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes.

This is a conversion kit that updates the calipers from an umbrella-style seal to a more modern O-ring seal. This era of caliper is infamous for leaking because of the old-style umbrella seals, so this will hopefully guard against that.

This kit is really nice and went together with no problems.

The only complaint is that the pistons are anodized black instead of being raw aluminum as the originals were. These are of course visible with the wheels off, so it will be obvious to anyone who knows these cars that these aren't original, but any safety-related upgrade is totally worth it.

The rears turned out as well if not better than the fronts.

There is a set of organic, reproduction brake pads on their way from Corvette Central that will finish these off.
