Still trying to track down the oddball spindle nut and tab washer for the front hub that was missing parts. Most GM cars use a 3/4-20 spindle nut and tab washer, which are very common. Some parts books even insist that is what goes on these cars, but 1969-82 Corvettes got larger 27/32-inch spindles for whatever reason, so this has been difficult to track down. That strange size does not exactly grow on trees.
What was being sold by Dorman as a 27/32-inch spindle tab washer showed up - five of them, in fact - but they were a bit too small for the spindle. A little machining and one fits. They did not have a nut.
The third attempt at finding a 27/32-20 spindle nut shows up in the mail soon, this one from another Corvette vendor.
With any luck, third time's a charm and this will finally get closed up.
