Could have been much worse

The front brake calipers were disassembled revealing a mess inside, but with some brake cleaner and a little elbow grease, they cleaned up nicely. There is no pitting or rust, so each half can be restored and reused.

These have been changed with rebuilt calipers at some point - as most are - so they are a mismatched set of four, but they've been with the car for a long time and are OEM, so they'll be restored and put back onto the car.

Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes makes a complete rebuild kit for these, so that will be purchased. The bolts will be Parkerized and the calipers will be media-blasted and painted.

These should turn out nicely.
