Steering

The relay rod, steering valve, idler arm and ram are all hung onto the car and plumbed together with the power steering hoses.

These are all restoration-quality parts and look so good - and correct - with the restored original parts.

It would have been nice to have found a way to repair the original idler arm, but the new one is a very good match and has no play in its joint.

This assembly is tight again with no slop and looks great.

The original tie rod ends are tight enough to reuse, so they will be restored. The original-looking dust boots are available and will top these off nicely.

These are remanufactured as restoration-quality parts that are nearly identical to the originals, so if this proves to be unpractical, a new set can be purchased. It's worth a try.

These were soaked in acid for a bit to remove the worst of the rust, but these will be cleaned up, sealed with tape and media-blasted before being Parkerized in gray. We'll see what they look like and how much play they have.
