After a long break spent enjoying a vacation and working on several projects for others, it was time to get back on the car today. The door was shaved down to fit the door aperture, a line marked by the masking tape, and material was added where needed to close up gaps.
With the adjustment to the door and body, the fitment will be quite good. Three more shims were used to push the lower hinge out so the door is now flush with the body.
The notoriously bad gap at the top of the door where it meets the fender will be better than average, but to make it perfect is to over-restore this car. It has to be a little off to look right.
