This is the power steering ram and missing from it is the dust cap. It's common for these cars to be missing these small, pressed-on caps.

Hardcore Corvette folks know that most of these caps were stamped with a 'C' for 'Corvette.' Some, however, were inexplicably stamped with an 'X.' Probably meaningless, it's still something that is fun to check on these cars to see if there is one of the 'X' caps or the more common 'C.'

Of course, that was reason enough to pick up an 'X' cap for the fun of it. And of course, that decision cost a lot of money. Never going to say how much this tiny, pitted cap cost.
