Forced open

At some point, the regulator on the left side of the deck lid did not open fully and the lid was forced open, breaking the striker and the fiberglass it is attached to.

Fixing that was the task this weekend.

The crack was ground out to remove the gelcoat and expose the fiberglass fibers before this was glassed in with new fiberglass.

Masking tape was used to mask around the area to aid in sanding back to the original shape and size of the panel. That's been a good trick and lessens the amount of time spent sanding.

Once it cured, a new hole for the rivet that holds the striker onto the panel was drilled out and everything was sanded to 400 grit.
