Corvettes of this vintage were never known for their exact body lines, but they were better than the ones between the exhaust panel and the rear of this car currently. The right quarter panel had to be shaved quite a bit for it to line up to the exhaust panel, but it's a good line now.
Hard to say how well this lined up from the factory, but the bonding strip had to be removed and a quarter inch or more had to be ground off of the quarter panel to allow the exhaust bezel to fit up correctly.
The bonding strip will be bonded back once this process is done, but it's going to be moved about as much if not more
Fiberglass was added to the quarter panel to pull the gap between it and the exhaust panel together a bit.Surely when this car was built the lines were at least this good.
