On purpose


The header bow is welded into place with an almost ridiculous attention to trying to copy the sloppy welds from the factory.

At best these were tack welds that clearly got ground down a bit for clearance considerations, so that is what was done when putting this back together.

Too much wire speed helped to recreate that, but they are still penetrated enough to be strong.

This might seem silly, but these cars succeed in the details like this. It's admittedly fun to work in this manner as well, all part of the hobby.

The tension wires are probably going to be installed after this gets painted. One attachment point is obvious, but the end of the wires are riveted to the header bow somewhere, though it's not clear where. It would be nice to figure that out before this gets painted so the paint can help protect from rust.
