Challenge accepted

Rather than pay someone else to do work on this car, it's always preferable for this restorer to learn the skill and do the work. The metal polisher was purchased to restore the bright work on this top in part as an opportunity to learn how to do this.

Let's just say this is really difficult.

Trim is sanded by hand, then by machine and finally polished on this bench polisher to a mirror finish.

As the process moves from the aggressive first stages to the delicate final steps, there are areas that cannot be brought to a mirror finish without going back to an earlier stage. There is a lot of what feels like starting over. This skill takes, more than anything else, a trained eye for what the finish must look like before moving forward.

The results are spectacular, even if they aren't perfect yet. This makes learning a new skill so rewarding.
