Undercoating

Work to prepare the left rear wheel opening for paint continues. This was scraped, sanded and washed today and the handful of steel brackets that are riveted to the inside of the wheel opening were sanded and treated with a rust converter.

Once these are free of rust, this will be masked and primed.

Clearly there were areas that were sprayed with an asphalt undercoating at the factory. The pattern for each wheel opening was recorded so this could be replicated. Tracking down something appropriate might take a bit of time, but this will make this look correct.
