Through this hole in the inner fender passes the supports for the front bumper. For some reason, the hole on the driver side was clearanced at some point with a grinder. The missing piece is being replaced with fiberglass.

It's difficult to say exactly why this was done, but it probably had something to do with the collision that necessitated the repairs that have been the source of a lot of work lately.

Once this cures fully, this will be shaped and ground flat. The process will be repeated on the other side of the break for strength.

In its current state, the repair resembles a draft beer. Maybe it's time to get out more after this long quarantine.
