Nose

The reinforcement for the nose of the car is next to be restored. It's riveted onto the headlight panel, so these rivets were drilled out.

At some point, probably when fixing the collision damage to the front clip, the mounting holes for the headlights, which are in this reinforcement, were ground out. This damage was welded up and then ground down.

Rust was a real problem with this part. One of the welded-on nuts had to be welded up and drilled back out and tapped to repair it.

The rust was ground down with a Roloc before this spent some considerable time in the blast cabinet.
