Making it work

The repairs to the lower front valance were good, but they of course aren't perfect. There is nothing to do but work with them, finesse them a bit, and make the best of it.

The bonding strip is missing on this side, so it might be good to order a used one and bond it to the front clip to make it look a little better. Instead of using a bonding strip, the two pieces of the front clip were simply married with fiberglass. The person who did this did a pretty good job, but it's not ideal for a restoration. When this was repaired, this was just a means of transportation, but it's a goal to get this to look as it is supposed to look, so putting a piece of a bonding strip in here might be a good solution. The only other alternative is to replace most of the front of the clip with NOS parts.

Some hardware — these odd bolts hold the rear valance onto the rear of the car — were restored while taking breaks from working on the clip.
