Finally done

The rear compartment doors have been awaiting the purchase of a carpet set so they can be fully assembled, but carpet came in a couple of days ago and this is finally ready to go back on the car.

The assembly came out really well. Sadly, the only original parts are a few screws here and there and the retainers for the locks that were restored. Everything else is from the aftermarket.

That said, it looks terrific and should complement the interior nicely.

The mystery of which door the lock goes into was solved with a bit of research. Early 68-72 cars have it on the middle while later cars in this range have it on the door behind the passenger seat (the one open in this photo).

The assembly manual notes this change happens in early January 1972, making my car one where the lock goes in the middle.

The ratty doors and the remnants of the frame could finally be thrown away. Normally, these would be kept for reference and resale later, but they are all warped from a leaky convertible top and were discarded.
