NOS
This is one of two hood locks that attach to the bulkhead of the car and keep the hood closed. Most cars have only one and it is attached to the hood of the car, but GM always had some wrinkle when it came to the Corvette.
The body of it was media-blasted and Parkerized black along with the spring and the nut and washer for the stop. The stop was electroplated with clear zinc while the lock rod was electroplated with yellow zinc.
It took a bit of searching for new old stock parts to see how these were originally prepared. There are two more parts that will be media-blasted and electroplated with clear zinc to finish this off tomorrow.
