Repair > Replace
The right door has some fairly serious rust issues that will require addressing. Some would replace the door, but it's possible to repair it and that ensures this car is as original as possible.
The rust doesn't look that bad from this angle, but much of the metal portion of the door shown in this photograph will have to be excised and replaced with a similarly cut piece from a donor door.
Like this one:
It was disappointing that the door had all of its small pieces removed save for the chopped-up wiring harness that isn't needed, but it will work as a donor. It's also in pretty rough shape, so there's no guilt in cutting it up.
Speaking of cutting it up, that has already started:
The fiberglass door skin was peeled away to expose the metal shell. The mounts for the lower hinge has a lot of rust damage, but the one on the door that is being conserved is in good shape. The portion of the door shell that is needed to make the repair is thankfully in very good condition with only one spot of concern.
