Plan
The welded nuts came in the mail today and after work they were welded into place.
Each time something is welded, it gets a little easier. There's always a new lesson learned, which is really the best part of this project.
This wasn't the most difficult thing to weld, but it wasn't the easiest either. These parts were intended to be spot-welded on, but they were MIG welded into place instead from the back side. They are very thin and easy to burn through.
The lesson learned on this particular job was the importance of having a plan before welding, something that would have made this come out a little tidier. Glad that the welds don't show.
One day something will get welded without wishing for a chance to do it over again.
