Take 2
The wiper transmissions were chemically stripped, media blasted and primed before being painted along with one of the wiper arms and this time everything cured out well. They are boxed and ready for storage.
It's possible that the matting agent that was used to flatten the paint requires a urethane hardener to cure and will not harden with an acrylic hardener. The finish is a little too shiny without that matting agent, but it should still look good. The paint is supposed to be a 60 percent gloss, but it's a lot shinier than that implies.
The right wiper arm (above) was painted with the same flat/matte paint that was used on the firewall. Perhaps by mixing the two paints a more appropriate sheen can be achieved.
