Linked in

It's difficult to grasp what this is, but this is the windshield wiper linkage— specifically the pivot of the linkage. The wiper motor connects to the lower lever and as it spins, the two linkage rods push and pull the windshield wiper arms into action.

This lies just beneath the wiper door mechanism and got just as much white, maroon and green paint from all of the repaints.

The ends of the parts were media blasted, polished and electroplated. The copper-plated pivot bushings are wearing parts and will be replaced with reproductions. There is a fair amount of play in them when they are installed so this will tighten up the action of the wiper arms and will probably make them a lot quieter than they are.

One washer nozzle is missing from the right wiper arm, but they are reproduced in the aftermarket. Once they come in, they will be brazed onto the wiper arms. Then everything will get media blasted, primed and painted before being assembled with new washer hoses and connectors.

One wiper arm is missing the cover that is installed over the spring that keeps it to the windshield. This cover turned up in the leaves and dirt that was trapped in the cowl and released when the clip was pulled. Unsure of what it was, it was misplaced. Pretty sure it was probably rusty and damaged since it fell off for some reason, but wouldn't it be nice to have it to be sure.
