Taking off the blower motor housing revealed a HUGE mouse nest. The nest in the passenger door was big, but this was even bigger. Sound insulation from around the cowl makes up the majority of what was chewed up to make the nest, but there was a little of everything in there. The squirrel cage fan was damaged heavily by the occupants of the nest, so it will have to be replaced, but the housing wasn't damaged and can be reused once it gets cleaned up a bit.

ReplyDeleteSadly, that is one of many mud dauber's nests. If there was cheese in there, maybe the mice would not have destroyed the plastic fan.
