Learning curve

Zinc electroplating and the clear zinc coating that is applied afterwards was a lot to learn, but the dichromate coating is proving a bit more difficult. After a weekend of experimentation, I think I have it down enough to begin coating real parts, like this washer for the alternator pulley nut. It's a coating that looks good, but looks even better with highly polished parts. Media-blasted parts fail to have much of the rainbow colors that we're used to seeing with yellow dichromate.
