Ready for paint

Now that all the parts have arrived and have been installed, the final assembly of the steering column is complete. Next is the task of buying an HVLP spray gun, having Dark Saddle Tan paint mixed, prepping the surfaces and learning to paint with a gun. That's the best part of projects like this; all that must be learned.

It's going to look so good when it gets painted. And the brown is growing on me.

Also restored this weekend were various other parts including the windshield wiper/washer switch bezel. This mounts just above the radio and center gauges and bears a really cool 'Corvette' callout. The plastic tube is a vent from the heater box that provides a tiny amount of heat to the center of the cabin in addition to the floor heater vents.

Just one more oddity in a very odd car.
