Missing

Quite a lot of progress was made on the steering column this weekend. With the lower bowl trim piece and the lower bearing installed, the column could be assembled up to the wheel lock.

The shaft looks great alongside the lockout tube and the lower bearing carrier. This is a very visible part of the column under the hood, so it's great to see that it will look good and have all of its maintenance needs taken care of.

As assembly progresses, there is more evidence of missing parts and shoddy work done on this column. Just today there were wood and drywall screws discovered in the place of missing machine screws. It's been very expensive and time consuming to deal with so many missing parts, but once it's done, this column will be correct and will look and function as new.
